Have I mentioned I love this car? I was kinda teetering into a bad headspace this evening so I forced myself to fire up the car. The sunset turned out to be stunning and the car drove even better. I need to keep adding the miles to the odometer. Nothing puts a smile on my face like a drive in this car. I am truly blessed to have an outlet that rarely fails to change my mood so drastically. I know many people have major issues right now with the pandemic, unemployment, and natural disasters, and my problems are insignificant in comparison. I hope all of you are doing as well as possible and staying sane. Reach out to friends and family to check in, and be sure you reach out to your support network if you are having issues. A simple conversation can help a lot, and I promise you will not be a burden to someone close.
Take care of yourselves.

damn straight - I did the same thing today, hop in the car and drive for an hour or so, then stop and grab some beers and tacos. Today really, really sucked - had a colleague torch our positive 20 year professional relationship because she assumed I tried to “steal” a $500 account, yes, only five hundred dollars . 45 minute irrational rant from her over the phone. Then boss lady says the issue is my fault because I didn’t tailor my communication to her “ specific needs” ... Coronavirus is turning people insane...

Once the smoke is gone I will go, I have to drive it with the windows down this time of year. I was thinking of putting some mat down by the firewall etc.. it gets toasty.

COVID is definitely wearing people down. This week has been a shitshow of weird, needy personal interactions

Sigh. I am sorry to hear that. This is turning sane and stable people into anxiety ridden nut cases. Myself included. Hopefully that shit blows over in a few weeks. I recently lost an account. They didn’t tell me, or my company they did not want my presence on site, they just decided not to reactivate my badge. Then I finally heard the partial story from a different customer. Talk about professional!
Hope the drive and new beer helps! I just opened something myself. Cheers!

*racecar noises and air shifting*
I concur with this message

Wrenching on my car does that for me.

Good message. Good to see the smile per mile metric is paying off for you. Certainly that’s what a horse is meant to be about.
Spare a thought for those of us who aren’t allowed to ride their horses at the moment, and whose every video call with friends becomes a struggle just to have a conversation amongst myriad minor technical issues particularly after an entire day spent battling the same issues with people at work it surely hardly feels like leisure when you’re dealing with the same shit before and after 5pm and you’re just trying to reach out

Years ago before kids, I had motorcycles. Nothing better than a long ride when you’re alone with your thoughts to get your head straight . Maybe I’ll look for another convertible now seeing as the other half doesn’t do two wheels...

I’m glad you have something like that. So many people don’t, but everyone could use one.

Glad you’re feeling better mate :)
I sadly do not have the funds to even afford to get my own house right now (still living at home, though I have a lot saved up...the market is just that crazy up here right now), let alone a Ferrari....but I do have my Korean ecobox and a manual....
No comparison to your horsey
, but I find the act of driving
cathartic when I’m feeling low, especially with a stick, so even going for a cruise in my Accent can help :)

Yeah, the mental/emotional weight of the last 6 months has been pretty crushing for many...

One thing is true on the S30, you will never get cold. I had a 12'er in the tool boxes behind the seats when I was a teen, they froze and exploded one night . The next day my mom’s car wouldn’t start so I had to drive her to work. Thank goodness it was -10 to 0 degrees out otherwise the beer would have melted and I’m certain she would have smelled it. Ahhh the good old days.

I recently corresponded with a fellow who had figured out how to eliminate the cracks and barbels that emanate from the exhaust on the model of car I have... WHY WOULD I DO THAT? I WANT ALL THE NOISES.

It is certainly difficult and I have refused every zoom hangout I've been invited to. It is a bummer how worn down we are, that in some cases. We do not have the mental strength to help even if we would like

Even my beat down first Miata was a blast. Even more fun in some aspects. Any car can be fun if you try hard enough!
Property is insane here, too. I bought the car with what would only have been a partial down payment on a house. I am still renting with roommates lmao

Understandable about the bike, but a vert would be a good option!

Just any outlet right now is helpful. I Also started candle making as a hobby. Something I never even thought about before . That is how far away my mind is from pre covid

That's good! I do not typically enjoy it, but tracking down and solving a problem is fun! Routine things much less to me haha
